After wrestling with conviction, Phil decided to abandon his secular success as a recording artist to align himself with the values of following Christ. He chose to walk away at the height of his career after collaborating with numerous multi-platinum artists, signing a publishing deal, and touring opening for industry majors in hip-hop. Overtime he began to understand that he was going the wrong way.

 As the bible teaches no one can have two masters; he repented and submitted to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Philip felt it was critical to honor YHWH and to lead by example. March 13th marks the release of Deacon PHIL's debut project Jesus Be My Ghostwriter. Phil fearlessly professes his loyalty and admiration of Jesus Christ comprised of 8 tracks. These record where sincerely written, and carefully produced infusing faith, hip hop, & contemporary R&B. What better way than to use his talent to worship God & hopefully inspire others. After four years of consecration, repentance, prayer, and fasting, he created this body of work. Now he has returned to the music scene exclusively as a Christian faith-based artist.
